Pastor of Biblical Counseling
My Life Story
I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home and made a
profession of faith at an early age, which was in part
motivated by a deep fear of death. During my teen years
my belief in God diminished, I fell into a pattern
of following my heart into worldly habits and then
rededicating my life, numerous times, to ensure I was
going to heaven, never feeling assured of my salvation.
By the age of 20, I was tired of the emptiness and
disillusioned with worldly pursuits and superficial
relationships. At this time, God humbled me, revealing
my need for Jesus to be not only Savior, but Lord of
my life. For the first time I was confronted with the
truth of the Gospel recognizing I was a completely
depraved sinner, repented of my sin and received Jesus
Christ into my life. One of the first realities that
changed was that my fear of death was completely gone.
With surrender came renewed perspective, my life and
career direction changed dramatically as the Lord
called me into ministry. Leaving behind pursuit of
a career in Mechanical Engineering, I enrolled in
Ontario Bible College in 1987 and in 1994 in Tyndale
Seminary. I married my beautiful wife Greer two weeks
after graduating and God has since blessed us with
Kayla, Hailey and Hayden. There are still hills and
valleys, but I thank God that he uses the difficult
circumstances of life to mold and shape us into the
servants He wants us to be.
Although I have worked in a wide range of ministry
settings, from street mission to behavioral associate
and residential counselor, it wasn't until Harvest
Bible Chapel that I came to believe that real change
doesn't come through secular therapy or pop psychology
but through the transforming power of the truth of
God's Word revealed by his Holy Spirit. It is my
passion to implement Bible-based counseling principles,
leading people through Scripture and prayer, witnessing
supernatural change.
Hope For Harvest
In 2 Timothy 3:16 and 17 we read "All Scripture is
breathed out by God and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, and for training in
righteousness, that the man of God may be competent,
equipped for every good work." My hope for Harvest
is to see God glorified as lives are redeemed and
transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit through
truth of his living and active Word.(905) 827-5295
