At Harvest Bible Chapel, we
are excited about fulfilling the word that Jesus has called us to do.
Jesus’ own words in Matthew 28:19-20 best describe just what this mission looks
like:
“Go therefore and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded
you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We believe this Great
Commission statement, the call to make disciples, is the task to which every
believer in Jesus Christ is called, not just those in leadership. This is
mission that energizes us and informs every single ministry that we are a part
of. In the spirit of the Great Commandment, Harvest Bible Chapel is
looking to make quality disciples of Jesus at every step by loving God first
and others second.
But if the job is to make
disciples, how is this done in our church? Describing what a quality
disciple looks like along three lines is helpful:
A Quality Disciple Worships Christ:
In every setting, Harvest
Bible Chapel is seeking to make disciples who worship Jesus Christ in spirit
and in truth with their entire lives. By God’s grace, we strive to
implant solid truth-filled and Spirit-led worship into every available
opportunity from our weekend worship services, to our prayer nights, to our
small group nights and so on. Worship is more than singing, and we want
to see Jesus glorified by men and women who worship him in everything they do.
