be strong and courageous campaign
harvest oakville
We continue to work through the Site Plan process with the Town of Oakville (see previous post). In the next month or so we should be wrapping up that step. Progress with regards to other aspects of design and structure continue to move forward. After Easter you will start to see more and hear more about the new facility in detail.
I was looking at the stats and was amazed to see almost 300 more people on average in our church today then we had in March 2009 when we launched the Be Strong and Courageous campaign. When you consider 80 people or so left in September of 2009 to begin Harvest Brampton in pushes the number closer to 400.
If you're one of those 300-400, you may have heard a little about our facility plans but not too much. Our intention all along is to see Christ at the centre of this ministry and not a building project. That said, our first Be Strong campaign saw many give generously, sacrificially, and cheerfully (read 2 Corinthians 8-9 for biblical giving modeled by the Macedonian church) which emphasized the fruitful spiritual exercise of praying and responding in obedience as the Lord leads. I've heard many stories from people who describe this exercise was very faith-building. So, very soon we will revisit our financial needs surrounding this move and call you to pray and respond as the Lord would have you.
Getting excited!
Greg
